Welcome to Intermediate Knitting! Whether you've recently finished a beginner class or getting back in the practice, this course is designed to build on the foundations of knitting. Over the two sessions, we will knit a garter stitch scarf that will introduce new techniques and move your knitting skills forward! You’ll learn alternative cast-on methods, how to shape your knitting by increasing and decreasing, and how to knit a finished edge. Along the way, you'll become familiar with tools, terminology, patterns, and problem-solving strategies that will empower you to tackle future knitting projects with creativity and skill. Our goal is to help you to continue to discover the creativity and joy that knitting can bring, all within a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Material requirements:
Please bring a skein of DK or Worsted weight yarn and a corresponding needle (approx size 5-7 for DK and 7-9 for Worsted). For yarn, we recommend Juniper Moon Herriot Alpaca, Four Crows Fiber Krypton DK, Sun Vally Fibers DK or Worsted or Cascade 220. The pattern can knit in variety of sizes and yarns, depending on your preference! Materials can be purchased before class if you need help with your yarn/needle selection.
