Knit a cozy adult hat in the round using the popular Tin Can Knits Barley Worsted pattern, an engaging and versatile design loved by knitters of all levels. In this project, you’ll work seamlessly in the round to create a beautifully textured hat featuring both smooth stockinette and simple garter stitch panels for added interest. This pattern is perfectly suited for intermediate knitters or confident beginners ready to expand their skills, offering an excellent opportunity to practice shaping, reading patterns, and working with circular needles. By the end, you’ll have a stylish, handmade hat that’s both functional and fashionable—perfect for gifting or keeping warm all season long.

Basic stitches: Knitting, purling, casting on, and binding off.

Pattern reading: Following the steps in the Tin Can Knits Barley Hat pattern.

Decreasing: Techniques to shape the crown of the hat.

Finishing: How to complete and weave in ends on your hat.

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (approx. 110-170 yards depending on adult hat size).

24" Circular needles in US 6 (4mm) for ribbing and US 8 (5mm) for the body.
