Mitchell Wool Co. DK Rambo is everything hearty and beautiful about American wool, from the Midwest prairies where Rambouillet sheep graze to the saturated colors that emerge from Mitchell Wool Co.’s own farm dye kitchen.

The incredibly fine 18.2 micron Rambouillet fleece is woolen spun into a cloud-soft DK. This yarn retains all its natural character with natural mordant to lock in those gorgeous, deep colors. Natural dyes are unique and each skein will vary, so plan to alternate skeins throughout your project to achieve a subtle color blend.

Every skein of Mitchell’s American Fiber DK tells the story of sustainable craftsmanship. Spinning oils are removed with plant-based soap, then hand-dyed right on the farm using natural products like sustainably harvested plants and insect shells. It's yarn with a conscience that doesn't compromise on beauty or performance. The 2-ply woolen construction creates exceptional stitch definition while maintaining that next-to-skin softness that makes you want to cast on immediately.

Stephanie is using this yarn to make a Trouvaille Vest – come into the store to see her progress or check it out on Instagram! This is Midwest wool at its finest, where traditional techniques meet innovative sustainability, creating something that honors both the land and the craft.
