Harrisville Designs WATERshed is a lofty, stunning worsted weight heathered wool yarn made in America with character that's increasingly hard to find. Each skein is woolen-spun and minimally processed, giving WATERshed its signature cushiony loft and a satisfying handle. The colors are deeply heathered, carrying names drawn from the natural waterways around the Harrisville mill in New Hampshire, like the dark tangle of streamside brush, the muted tones of lichen on stone, the palette of water and woods.

Harrisville has been spinning 100% virgin wool at their water-powered brick mill since 1794, and their Hydroline collection, of which WATERshed is part, partially funds the restoration of hydropower. When you bring a skein of WATERshed home, you're supporting a 200-year-old American mill, a living historic village, and championing the idea that the way we make things matters.

Our shop is named for the Sugar River and conservation of our waterways is deeply important our founder, Stephanie. Her commitment to being a good steward of the Upper Sugar River Watershed shapes the choices we make as a shop. The Upper Sugar River Watershed covers over 100,000 acres and 115 stream miles of Dane County, rich with fisheries, wildlife habitat, rare plant communities, and natural beauty worth protecting. Harrisville feels like a kindred spirit and WATERshed is a natural fit in our store.
