Welcome to the latest update from Sugar River Yarns. I hope you are finding time to enjoy the lengthening days with a favorite project in hand.
This newsletter will be a bit shorter than usual. I am preparing to head out on vacation with my daughter, and I'm looking forward to some down time and vacation knitting! Of course, I will be KIP'ing (Knitting in Public) all along the way, so be sure to follow our Instagram to see where my stitches take me! I am traveling light this time, so I am only bringing two projects along with me.
The first is the absolutely gorgeous ArtYarns Cashmere 1, which I am knitting into the Cashmere 1 Ply Tube Cowl by Iris Schreier. It takes just one skein of this lace weight yarn and is incredibly travel-friendly stockinette knitting in the round.
Socks are my go-to travel knitting project, so for my second choice, I am grabbing a skein of Opal's newly arrived Merino 4-ply sock yarn. Opal has always been a favorite of mine, and I am really excited to try this softer, squishy yarn. It comes in six colorways, and I have a feeling I will have a hard time choosing one!
While I am away, I am leaving the shop in the highly capable hands of Levi, Kara, Jamie, and Ellie. They will be here to assist you with yarn selections, pattern advice, and anything else you might need for your summer crafting (rumor has it, they have another cheeky sale planned).
Until next time, happy stitching!
Stephanie
